Recent data from the Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) shows that the requests for a Golden Visa in Portugal have increased enormously in the last month of November.
Only in November alone, the program attracted a total of 50 million euros, being the biggest part of the investments made in the real estate business, which represents a rise of 35% when comparing to the same period of last year.
In total, 86 Portuguese Golden Visas were attributed in November, 80 of those for investment in the real estate market. This also represents an increase of 75% compared to the 28,6 million invested in October.
17 of these Visas were destined to projects of urban rehabilitation, making a total of 6,1 millions in rehabilitation.
22 Golden Visas were attributed to Chinese citizens, 12 to Americans, 9 to Brazilians, 5 to South Africans and 4 to Indians.
Since October of 2012, when the program was launched, were invested 5.071 million euros in real estate in Portugal, with 8.782 visas attributed.
